Low mileage 156 20v on auto trader

Had a look at this today

Alfa Romeo 156 2.4 JTD 20v Multijet Veloce 5dr

Good points
Drives well
Low miles
Roof rails and two bar (for me maybe not another punter)
Lovely smooth 20v engine

Bad points
No service history after 40k
No evidence of cam belt change.....ever
Arb knocking (rest of suspension feels fine)
Airbag light on
Aircon not cold
Infocenter broken

Other factors
No leather interior
Smells of dog!!!
Crap peddles
Faded badges
No cruise control
Nasty alloys

I am thinking of taking the leather interior, cruise control stick, and teledial alloys off my old 10v to mitigate some of the above points. Been quoted about 850 for arb, cam belt and water pump and full service from the autolusso guys which seems reasonable.

He has already dropped his price to 2200. Question is does that seem a fair deal. I don't expect much more than 500 if I sold my old 10v with 170k on the clock but appreciate these are the last of the 156's and the 20v engine with 6 speed box was soooo much more pleasant.

Any other areas I've forgotten to check?

There was no vibrating under load so assume clutch, drive shafts, dmf etc are fine although theres always a risk.

Would love a 20v before they all disappear. With such low mileage I'd expect to get quite a few good years out of her.

Check whether your seats would have or would need airbags in them for the 20v. Later models had side airbags in the front seats from memory, older seats may not have these.

Cruise control would be plug and play no problem.

Does the cambelt quote there include the aux tensioner as well? Its a rather unique part to the 2.4s and costs about 120 just for the part. If its not included in that 850 price I'd say that's a touch steep.
