Thumbs Up Cam belt/idlers

Having bought my first alfa 156 2.0l after many years of nagging by vespabian i finally did and he was right in what he told me. they are like a woman[no discrimination intended] ie you love them or hate them. Mine is a fine car well impressed, but what about the legendry belt failure surely alfa need to do something about this????

Re: Cam belt/idlers

If you look at the other current thread about this it looks like there has been an official change to the service schedule now.

Re: Cam belt/idlers

If your manual says change at 72k - completely ignore this as Alfa Romeo have screwed up big time here and they now recommend 36,000 or 3 years (unbeknown to many of us) ... just a wee bit of a difference there!

As our cam belt just broke 2 days ago and we now face a scary bill - if I were you I would not take any chances and get it done if needed asap.
