Okay the grandaugter has come to me with a school project. They are covering recycling, and she is doing the project of cars..............And the best bit her "example car" is going to be a 156 because grandad nearly always has atleast one in pieces lol.
Anyway she's trying to work out, what can be relisticly recycled when the vehicle reaches the end of it's life.
So far we've covered :-
Usable parts been sold on ebay.
Tyres going for shreading for playgrounds, stable floors etc
Then i figures sell the rest to the scrap man, but that wasn't good enough, she was quicker than me and worked out, that there is various sort of metal etc.
So far have
Steel - Bulk of car
Aluminium - Suspension Parts, Cylnder Head, Calipers, Gearbox Casing??
Copper - Brake Pipes, Wiring
Platinum - Catalytic Convertor
Have I missed anything, I'd hate to be blamed if we don't get a gold star!!!
She came with me when I took the remains of the black 156 to the scrappy, she must have impressed them, the MD took her on a guided tour, and let her press the button to cube a car!! (Not fair I wanted to do it
