Oil cooler

Hi all.

i have a 147 jtdm 16v 150 bhp 2005 facelift model.

While checking under car i have noticed that the oil cooler has been disconnected and one pipe totally removed and the other has been used to feed back into the oil system where the oil filter is, which has a very tight bend in it.
I have done about 4k in the car since purchase and it a great car, my question is can i totally remove the other pipe and just fit blanking plugs to where the original pipes came out of the oil filter housing ?
All info much appreciated.

You can't blank it off. Get a new cooler. There's loads of threads on it
