2.0L inlet cam advanced
Quick question....... Last weekend I did a cambelt change and balance belt change (along with changing the relevant tensioners), Upon setting the timing up (tdc with dial gauge and cam locks) I noticed that my inlet cam was out by roughly 5 degrees.
I've reset it all back as it should be, but what puzzled me before was that the engine was already running beautifully, the only reason for the belt change was that haven't been changed for 3-4 years now.
So piston 1 was at TDC, exhaust cam lined up perfectly so did the balance shafts, but the inlet was advanced by roughly 5 degrees..... So when the belt was off I rotated the inlet cam back so the cam, lock fitted perfectly. I haven't started the engine yet, but before I do, just want some piece of mind that It will be ok! lol. Perhaps what I thought was a perfectly well running engine, will now be even better!
Some confirmation would be great to put my mind at rest!
