Good News - MOT Passed
As title would suggest. After renewing a few bits on the suspension bushings the 147 has passed the MOT with flying colours.
Amazingly some of the things I didn't fix on the last one haven't got picked up this time round. Mainly the rear bushings are starting to look a little tired. However I know they are solid and don't make any noise and tracking on them is good (Have a 4 wheel alignment check).
So pretty happy. In the end another year of motoring has cost me a pair of front tyres, wishbones upper and lower. A set of used exhaust manifold and precats because my flexi pipe was starting to go (I couldn't be bothered to get a new one welded in and thought the extra cost of having newer precats and lamda's was worth the additional outlay).
So all in all £380
£138 being a 4 wheel alignment and tyres
£200 being wishbones
£40 being the MOT
Hopefully the next couple of years the car should be good (Cam belt I did 1.5 years ago) so just a case of basic servicing and maybe some brake pads and discs.
Think you should always budget for around £500 a year maintenance on older cars. Seems to be a rough cost that I spend per car to keep them going.
However passed first time no advisories.
Now back to the hooning.
