I have had issues with the selespeed system of my 2002 2.0 147 for a while.
The onboard computer says "Selespeed System failure" and sometimes the gearbox goes to neutral when shifting from 1 to 2 (and from 2 to 3 but it's not as frequent).
It appears to go worse after a few miles.
Before posting on this forum, I have made a lot of research on the web and based on the information I found I did the following:
- I changed the battery
- I checked the selespeed oil level. It was empty! I hence refilled it with Dexron III oil.
- Using multi ECU scan, the error given is P1769, relay stuck. I ordered a bitron 46520419 relay and replaced it.
The problem was still happening. Same error code. If I clear the error, it comes back.
I tried to switch the 50A fuses in front of the battery but that did not help either (see photo attached)
I moved the connector that is under the air intake to place it further away from the engine. (I tried to open it to clean it but could not figure out how to do so - it's some sort of security connector). Still no success. (see photo attached)
On another thread:
It is suggested that it could be an issue with the actuator but multi ECU scan tells me that the pressure never goes above 50 bar so does not seem to be the case.
Does anybody know what I am doing wrong?
