I would like to put my 2p in and say that whilst it isn't a terminal problem and you can drive it you are filling your car with soot and that can fvck it up royally. I cannot stress a MINIMUM of miles enough - 300 is far too much. You need to try to fix it in my opinion.
This comes from me doing around 120 miles with a split turbo hose. It caused an unsettling mechanical whirring noise until I changed the oil (which was the worst oil I've ever seen, literal chunks of soot) and there was, until 3 or 4 days ago, a crunch/grounch when I lifted off hard acceleration which I believe was the turbo. This eventualy cleared after a solid 6 months when I booted it and a MASSIVE cloud of soot came out and the cars been absolutely beautiful since. In the end it turned out nicely but it could have been a lot worse.
