Wow what a marathon sunday that was, started on the car at about 10:45am and finished at about 8:45pm.
Good news is is that we replaced the coolant bottle, radiator, the 3.2 cooling pipe and all of the hoses with Autolusso modded ones.
Thanks everyone on here for the tips and guides they helped massively would of been so much more difficult without them, I feel pretty good about myself considering I have never done much mechanics before however my uncle did help out a bit.
A few things that we found a bit fiddly if anyone is looking to do this in the future.
1. The Air Con RAD is hard to get off the main RAD, the top drivers side bolt is concealed behind metal that holds the head lamp in place, no one mentioned removing this is the step by step guides so we manipulated the position of the rads after all of the other bolts were out. Might of been easier to move the headlight surround first in hind sight.
2. Chriss 155 spoke about retaining the rubber saddle that the RAD sits in which we did so thanks however after a lot of struggling and gigging about we found the only way to get the rad to sit into place was by removing a bolt that holds the top rubber bit sliding the rad into place and then re-bolting that bit back in.
3. Wheel arch covers I officially hate them this was probably the longest bit, ended up trying to grind most of the screws off however the heat just melted the holes so they ended up just pulling off, they are now re-secured with new screws and a few washers to cover the holes. ;-)
Would it of been easier to insert the new radiator without the fans attached? Only asking cause getting the new RAD in was probably the most tricky part getting it to sit right as it should, just wondered what the best way would of been.
Anyway special thanks to:
Just gotta check today and hope it isn't leaking. ;-) Few pics for you.
