156 2.4Jtd 20v ecu and throttle reset - done today

I did this today. Only driven a few miles but I've noticed the engine has a slightly offbeat note. Of course these things can be subjective but it definitely feels a bit more 5 cylinder ish than it did. It has plenty of power too. I'll be interested to see whether this changes as I do more miles.

Is there any benefit in an ecu and throttle reset?
How do you reset the ecu and throttle?

The diesels do not have a throttle.
