ABP Motorsport Crewe - Problems.
Remember around October when I posted on here with my handling problems, and somebody pointed me to ABP in Crewe? Well, had a very interesting chat with them today.
When I visited ABP I asked them to look into why the handling was bad, and do alignment if all appeared well. Well, the job card apparantly just says to do alignment, and does not record the dialogue I had at the counter, nor with the mechanic.
I called them today explaining how they missed out on a knackered steering rack and a duff shock absorber at the front. The reply was pretty much along the lines of give us another £45 and we will sort it.
Am I unreasonable asking a firm who has already taken over £100 of my money for alignment and who failed to spot a faulty shock and rack to do this for free, given this is my third visit?
I asked them to resolve this which was refused. I then advised I would have to take it else where as I was not happy with the service, and also advised I would also be taking my MX5 to another alignment centre as well. The guy who called me back asked me not to hold them to ransom! Ahem - happy customers return, unhappy customers take business elsewhere, where is the ransom in that? He also asked me to think carefully about posting anything on the internet as he has taken action about people in the past - begs the question why other people have also had problems......
I advised I would raise the matter with Cheshire Trading standards - the caller advised me not to do that. (He was one of the directors of the firm). I thanked him for his advice, although will certainly be writing to them, especially as they are members of the Golden Spanner scheme which is about fairness and customer service.
Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with this firm?
I am certainly going to get the alignment done elsewhere as it is needed, although am interested in any legal opinions on who should cover the cost of this.
Thanks for listening to this! (Feeling a lot better now).
