Thats shocking!
Similar thing happened with my old 156, some Muppet decided to repair the main wiring harness with nothing more than insulation tape (to re connect several wires together). As soon as the weather got warm the adhesive on the tape melted and the car wouldn't even try to start. It took me the best part of a week to chase that one down and repair.
