Re: Lowering a 156
I lowered my car with HR springs only, 35mm lowering. It is 20 months and 30 000km since lowering. Car has 72k km total. Even though I canít say my dampers are noticeably worn out, I feel they canít control the body so well.
As LEO175 wrote, the bodyroll is reduced; I can corner much faster, provided the road surface is flat. On less then perfect road, I feel the dampers are not up to the springs. I ordered Billstein B8 dampers 2 weeks ago, they should be delivered this week. I am looking forward to feel the difference they make :-)
My opinion is, if you lower with springs only, sooner or later you will buy better dampers as well. And in case you decide to go back to OEM springs, you will have to get new standard dampers as well, as driving them some time lowered will reduce their life anyway.
