Re: Does anybody know this bumper?
I've only just arrived on this forum but I'm immediately drawn to this thread.... I am on my first Alfa, a humble 1.6 147 from 2001. It is nothing, not a car to be proud of...I know, but I love it... totally love it. Blasting round winding roads and...oh man... I love Alfa Romeo... as humble as my 147 is, it makes me feel like I'm driving something a bit special becuase its so responsive and tight, and although its no hare off the mark, at points across the mid-range it really does have some pull. I love the sound of the engine too. So, I love the 147 completely, in all its guises, old nose and new... but for 147s i think I prefer the old nose more. The missus and I have recently had a baby girl (Pearl) who is 7 months old. Time to switch up to a 156 or Sportwagen. I personally prefer the sportwagon, but... I have never ever liked the old 156/sportwagon nose. The new nose I love, but the old nose i do not. I know the 147 and the 156 came from two different styling houses but I wish the 156 had the same nose as the 147, with the full length grill/nose. So, I am seriously hampered in my choices for a bigger Alfa as I can't comfortably afford any new-nose 156/Sportwagons ( the missus rules the financial affairs for me as i'm self-employed with sporadic dips in income)... and its been vexing me greatly. But, I come along here to this forum mainly to find out just how dodgy my 147's nasty new engine noises are and lo... pictures of a nose for the sportwagon or 156 that I would personally really love to have on a car. i never even thought of the bodykit option as I'm not one for that sort of thing, but that one looks really understated and I love it. So as soon as I've had my 147 sorted out, I'm off to get myself a sportwagon and some Zender fenders I think!
