Yesterday it was a good day, lots of sun and heat.
I opened the window to let some fresh air coming into the car, and I heard and awful and loud ticking noise coming from the engine. Really bad sound.
A short video :
Its time to say bye to the engine?
I opened the oil cap and the noise was not coming from the camshaft.
Strangely this came shortly after the P1320, cam sync sensor error.
I still couldn't replace the sensor, but the car worked the same with the sensor connected or disconnected.
Maybe the distribution went crazy and the timing belt hast jumped any teeth?
Now the car has lost even more power. When the radiator fan starts, the car struggles a second or so, when I set the air conditioning it does it too.
This wasn't happening before, the engine would get anything like a rock, unless it was climbing a hill at less that 2200rpm with the air con, then it would start to lose some power and had to lower a gear.
I'm thinking on swapping the entire engine and ECU from other 156 in a few months.
Is it very hard to do? About the weight, I could borrow a small chain hoist to lift it and put in the place.
