The always-on right rear brake light...

Hi - so I have the above mentioned problem.

I've checked the earth point in the rear and that seems fine. Therefore assume it needs a replacement rev counter to fix this.

I have two questions though if anyone can help:
1. Is there any way of confirming a rev counter problem (i.e. by disconnecting a fuse to the instrument panel perhaps?)
2. Assuming rev counter it is, any suggestions on where I could get it replaced? I'm in south west london and have used wilson alfa for dealer servicing and bianco auto in hookwood as well for indep work...

Apparently it can be fixed.

Someone, on one of the forums, found a blown component when he stripped one that failed. If you can find the part, a competent person can solder on the new bit.

HOWEVER, looking at the cost of some of the second hand rev counters from the breakers, might not be worth the effort.
