Re: Alfa 147 JTD questions
Welcome to AO and congrats on your purchase. The JTD engines are now well proven and suffer from few if any of the faults associtated with the Twin Spark petrols. Do check the oil on a regular basis (don't rely wholy upon the dash guage) although again, unlike the petrols, they're not known for oil consumption.
Door handle "clicks" or "creaks" are common on 156, 147 and GT ('cos they're identical items) but as stated above are cured (if only temp.) by silicone spray.
Don't know what version of the Jtd you have but if it's the 150bhp you're laughing - it's a stonker! If it's the 120 bhp version then there are loads of chips/re-maps/tuning boxes available - just do a search on here. I'm just about to fit a Steinbauer P_box to my GT and I'll be reporting on it shortly.
