Re: A Thankyou and what air filter to recommend?
Hello there, for our needs I'd go for the GTA modification. This is a bit of black plastic pipe which replaces the resonators on the air intake system. The resentator is the first place air gets drawn into from outside of the car. It lives infront of the passenger side front wheel. Hack it off and replace it with a GTA intake pipe, about £15 from Alfa. Then add an airfilter of your own choice. There is little in it between a normal paper air filter, and an aftermarket foam or cotton gauze on. The 156 MAF sensor gets fouled up with oil easily and all aftermarket washable filters will need oiling in some way.
I run a GTA pipe with a Pipercross foam element. It works well, improves engine note etc. But does little if anything for responsiveness on the move.
