156 jtd accelerator pedal

Hi everyone
My 156 jtd 2002 has been diagnosed as having a throttle sensor problem. I have looked on my CD and it shows a linkage affair with a rotary potensiometer. however looking at the car itself the pedal arm just goes into a box attached by 4 allen bolts with a plug on top. Is it that easy to change? and anyone know what kind of price they sell for?
Thanks for your time.

Re: 156 jtd accelerator pedal

Sensor could be potentiometer 46522958 or 46810176, around £260. More likely the latter, also used on several Fiats. When my Fiat had a slight intermittent warning light and a very occasional misfire, I was told it was the connection. The Pot appears to have a spade connector, but pictures not very clear.

Re: 156 jtd accelerator pedal

I had a problem with my throttle pot and the mechanic sorted it by taking the connector apart squeezing the connections together a bit and re-connecting it.
He said it was a white connector above the throttle itself in the footwell.

It may be worth trying this before going for a new one.
