[156] Replacing upper whisbone, is that enought to fix this?

Please check this video.
I'm pretty sure that this is the damn thing that caused the free play on the steering when going fast.
I'd hope that replacing the upper whisbone will be enought to fix that free play, but I'd like some professional opinions

By the way, I'm still fighting with the engine power issues.
But those won't cause MOT fail, this will do for sure!

yes, replacing the upper arm will cure this. The arm has developed play in its bushes. They are replaceable (bushes) one italian company makes them . If the ball joint on your arm is good, it is worth considering that you replace only the bushes.

Thumbs Up

The bottom arms will be worn as well, you should change top and bottom, it will transform the handling,

Just don`t buy Birth (and other brands), from my experience they last 6000 km for the upper ones on 17 rims and mostly city driving. Price difference is too small comparing to TRW to take the risk.

yeah, just replace uppers and lowers (TRW). make sure you remove and grease the metal sleeve in the uppers and load the suspension before doing up the fork bolt in the lowers.

Do the upper and lower arms and while while you're at it replace the drop-links too, then take the car for a full 4-wheel alignment.

I went for the MOT (called ITV in Spain) because today it was the last one. So if it failed I would have another month to fix, but at least the car was allowed to drive, otherwise if I had an accident or the cops decided to inspect my car, it would cause some big trouble.

So, I entered like a sheep in a slaughterhouse, with the intake hose with lots of american tape and plastic bridles, broken window washer pump and tank on the boot (I broke it when I replaced the horns) and that horrible free play on the arms and its loud screaming.

The guy said, "hey you did a nice fix there " . Erm...yeah, I have bought the part but it didn't arrive yet.
Oh, no water? Well, nothing important, light fault. I assume it got out of water. :Erm..., yes, likely will be that.. yesterday it worked
When the car went into that bouncing machine, it make such big mix of metallic sounds that I though that they were going to stop it before the car imploded itself and killed everybody

After all, they gave the paper, "PASS" . And, "Nice 5-cylinder sound dude! "

No words
