slave cylinder or whole clutch?
Another problem with my 156 2.5 V6!
My misses used the car the other day and got stuck in a horror of a traffic jam so lots of stop-start and 1st gear.
When I used it yesterday I noticed the beginnings of a judder in 1st when you pull away, it was getting worse throughout the day today until we just about got home after about 40 miles of stop start driving. All of a sudden gears were very hard to get and the judder was all the time at idle, once moving its ok.
It crunches into every gear but then feels as if its almost fully engaged with a bit of clutch slippage. The bite point is almost immediate at the bottom of the pedal travel.
I've done a search and read some other threads on here and it seems to point at the clutch release bearing which from what i've read is actually part of the slave cylinder.
Is it worth just having someone do the slave cylinder and not the clutch or should I have it all done at once?
I was a bit concerned about the clutch (paranoia setting in) during the week so stuck it in 6th and lifted off the clutch pedal slowly and quickly and it stalled whatever with no slippage.
Any ideas would be much appriciated - meant to be dirving 300 miles in this on the 22nd - need to do something before then!
