I bought a 156 v6 2.5 24v veloce from a garage which he took as a trade in and just left in standing as sales were slow for him.
i went and had a look as i needed a project and the car was immaculate inside and out i did some haggling and got it for £350 which i thought i cant go wrong with full leather etc.
but the car was cleaned out by the last owner who must have looked after it but all the paper work was taken out aswell and he never got round to taking it to the car dealer, but said engine work had been done to it.
After sorting out the leaks etc and running it in the drive to get rid of the cob webs i took it for a quick blast to see if it springs any other leaks.
but WOW FOOK ME it was so fast and responsive more then any other alfas i had looked at of the same engine size. 1st gear change has to be so fast that it seem pointless even using 1st gear hit 120 in 4th and still pulling . only had a short run on a short road so didn't get to 5th and 6th gears .
so im wondering if a bigger engine has been fitted.
so my question is is there any markings on the outer of the engine which indicates engine size. saving me taking the head off.
ill keep fingers crossed as ive been searching high and low for 3.0 to go in it and it will be nice if done already
It even came with a private plate which when looked up value was about £2000
thanks in advance
