My new 156
Brilliant, I've taken the plunge and bought a 2004 156 s/wagon 2.4jtdm. I did my homework, contacted the only previous owner the dealership he bought it from and had it serviced with regularly over his 56k miles during 2.5 years (during which time he had no problems whatsoever with the car), and discovered from Alfacare that there had been no warranty claims.
I test drove the car for half an hour, drive the car home to London, and ten minutes from home I start to hear a rhythmic clunking noise.
It only happens when I lift off the accelerator, and you only really hear it at low speeds. Such a shame as otherwise the car is a beaut. I rang Gonellas to see if I drive it over for a diagnosis, but they were about to shut. Over the phone they suggested it might be the wishbone suspension bushes. So off to Gonellas it goes on Wednesday. The car goes very well feels very taut etc. I had a 10v s/wagon where the engine mounts failed when car was only 5 months old, it feels very similar. Anyone have any thoughts?
Colnago, Vespa, Alfa Romeo, not neccesarily in that order, working to add Ducati, Ferrari, Maserati, De Rosa, Ciocc, again not necessarily in that order
