Hi AlfaVeloce156, you make a good point about a pre 100k car possibly building up to a lot of work. I'll be thorough over the service record, as during the years I had my 2.0TS it had basically a front end rebuild, needed the rear re-bushing, and all the other usual maintenance stuff.
I think it has to be leather for me, I had Momo black in the 156 and a weird caramac colour in the GT. As dellboy said, an Alfa isn't an Alfa without its leather! Would love a TI spec, otherwise it's got to be a Veloce with a good bit of cow skin. We tracked a 1.8 wobbly lusso with cloth, and it was frankly crap. Alacantra would be ok, but the interiors of Alfas are so special the seats need to have the special touch too.
I'm the vocalist at the moment, have played drums in bands but might be going back to doing it as ours is leaving to do his masters in physics! I know the Volvo makes sense there, but I am going to be studying for a nursing degree in September which will involve driving to placements. I know if I had a turbo petrol volvo I'd be only seeing high teens as I wouldn't be able to keep it out of boost. And it's a compromise with the missus, which with the compromise being an Alfa isn't to be sniffed at! And it'll have a great deal more carrying space that our puny MX5s have.
I can't find the load capacity for the Alfas with their seats down? I know the Volvo has 990L, which is huge.
