Ok so now for something different. I've read the thread and searched around and haven't seen anyone with a similar problem, not to say it's not around though.
I recently picked up a 156 JTS Selespeed, and have noticed that the steering wheel paddles function intermittently. Now sometimes they work perfectly, then both stop working altogether. I then experienced a time where the downshift worked, but the upshift didn't. The gear stick and City mode work fine, so it's clearly not a problem with the transmission of any sort, but something to do with the electrics.
Now this is where it gets weird. I took it out on Saturday and the paddles worked perfectly, I switched on cruise control for the motorway, went to get off (thus switching off cruise control) and the paddles had stopped working. Coincidence or not I don't know. I haven't had it long enough to be able to determine what seems to be a cause.
Does anyone have an ideas?
Whilst I'm here, I might as well confirm that USB ISO OBD-II / VAGCOM / AlfaDiag KKL Interface keywords [USBVAGCOM] - £24.99 : ECUFix.com, Affordable Technology
is the correct cable suitable for the JTS?
And finally another confirmation that Castrol Dextron III is a fine alternative to CS Speed? No noticeable difference? I plan on going through and doing all the fluids so I'll be inclined to flush everything out. What's the recommended amount I should purchase to do that?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
