Wobble woes continue.
Brief summary - new bones at front (all 4), drop links, track rod ends, and the rear hub bushes and all of that.
Knocking noise when turning the wheel, and steering feels wrong over certain surfaces, most notible on the white lines, or small bumps in the road, like cats eyes.
Specialist has been really helpful and patient, and was certain it was the steering rack. Rack now replaced for a new one, and a new valve to the rack, also been replaced. New rack also comes with new track rod ends.
Handling now slightly better than it was, although still feels wrong over a surface it does not like, again, also on white lines.
I still have knocking on the steering wheel when turning with the ignition on.
What the heck else could this be? I will certainly be returning the car, but as this is handling better than my MX5 which is literally all over the road when wet (although great when dry) I will get this sorted first. (MX5 with same garage).
Do all cars have a small knocking with igition on when waggling? If not, then maybe something here is still wrong. If so, then maybe it is time to shell out another few hundred on a new set of shocks. Okay to drive around town, but too dangerous for a bypass or motorway. 72Ks, car 6 years old.
Has anyone got any ideas?
I am not annoyed with the garage, just worn out and just wanting the car to be fine, as I use it a lot on the motorway for work.
