Alfa 147 1.6TS

Help!!! 147 Clutch Master Cylinder.

Hi all

I have a 53 plate Alfa 147 1.6TS and the local garage have diagnosed it as requiring a new Clutch Master Cylinder. (40 parts, total fitted 170).
However the part (part no. 46776357) has been on back order for 2 weeks and they still cannot tell us when it is likely to arrive!
Is this a particularly rare or difficult to get hold of part? I would have thought as there are plenty of 147's around and it is a mechanical part that they would be fairly readily available?

Seems to be 147 part only, have you asked for VOR (vehicle off road)delivery, normally next day to the Alfa dealer, but on reduced discount.

VOR is a major motivation for the OEMs or their nominated spares distributor. I think it is one of their KPIs (Key performance indicators) and keeping the number of VORs to a minimum, if not zero, normally makes them jump through hoops to get the bits. It also makes them put increased pressure on the supplier of the part to deliver if they are in arrears.

Master slave cylinders have long delivery times. Christ knows why, but I know a couple of dealers as well as indies who are struggling to get them. I've got one on order at the moment, and its been over a week already with no sign of it.
