First all I'm new here, found a link on the uk fiat coupe club that brought me here
('m from belgium)
I currently own a fiat coupe 20vt my99 (squadratuned,+ a few other bits and piece)->260hp) and an alfa 147 jtd 115bhp (squadratuned->140hp)
Well anyway, the clutch on the 147 was worn (110.000km) so I let my dealer replace it, a whole new cluth kit.
Anyway, when I picked it up, it was all very smooth and light, like a new cluth, but I quickly noticed when it warmed up, when I have used the clutch a dozen times it begins to creak a bit when you push the clutch, and sometimes it gets very heavy, so being a hydrolic clutch It isn't supposed to do that.
My dealer said it was me, that my foot was too emotional... and that it would probably sort itself out as the clutch still has to blend.
Anyway 5 months later... the problem is still there.
Changing gears, is no problem, the clutch works perfectly only it's pushing the pedal down that is very weird and sometimes very hard, and also the creaks in the movement, and you can also hear the mechanism "skipping" when pressing it. (sorry for my english)
I also had this problem with the "old" clutch... apart from the skipping part when going on full throttle
(ie worn clutch)
Everytime when I start the alfa from cold, it's no problem, but after a dozen times pushing the pedal It gets these symptoms.
If the clutch gets hard to push in, and I go on the motorway, and drive it for 15minutes or 10km's, after that the clutch is as good as new :s, very light, no skipping/creaking or heavy feel through the pedal.
Now, I've hear from one that the punto's from the same year my alfa 147 is have simular problems and that's due to the pedal mechanism under the dashboard itself. But didn't get much more info on that
that's why I'm asking it here, if there are any common problems with it ?
