156 2ltr TS

Motorway driving!!

Started my new job on Wednesday which is in Doncaster (53 miles from home). Ive got to say that the 156 2 ltr TS is the best car Ive ever driven on a motorway!!

At 70mph its at about 3k revs which is where the power comes in and if anything pulls over a little press on the right pedal helps me shoot from 70 to a hundred in no time and then let off to just cruise at around 85/90 and it will sit there and love every minute!!

I cant get over the car Ive got for the money Ive spent on it!!

I even had a 330d pull over tonight on my way home from work as I was steadily cruising at 95 and it clearly wasnt happy being in front of me.

Fingers crossed I dont have to use my new RAC membership again to ruin my new found confidence in my Alfa......some say never get one and some say never be without one.

Hi falkster, very happy to see you're enjoying your 156

PS: Do change the name of the car you drive on your profile though, it still reads M3

Re: Motorway driving!!

I need to dig out an old magazine that put the 156 2ltr up against a Boxster back in '98 when the 156 was being launched. IIRC the 156 would out pull the 'box' from 70 to 90mph. It had lots of times, etc.

If it hasn't been changed, think about swapping the air intake and resonator box before the air-filter box with a GTA pipe. Improves the response even more .....

Aye the max torque is at 3500 rpm,so ideal for motorway driving. I will never look back since I had mine
