Where to go from here?
Just got the car back from specialist - he cannot find anything wrong, but has changed the PAS fluid.
It still feels a little light when turning right, but nowhere near as bad.
However.... it now feels fairly light when braking.
This suggests two things:
1. Problem with the rack
2. As decellerating means lack of power, there is a problem with the power supply to the rack, maybe the pump, or the alternator perhaps??
My problem is that nobody can diagnose - Alfa dealer want £700 to change the rack which may, or may not sort the problem.
I badically need someone who can diagnose the problem as I am not convinced my dealer are right given the light steering when power drops decellerating - after a few seconds the stering regains it's stability.
Anyone got any ideas at all? Other than flog and get a Mondeo.....
