Help with good garage/workshop
I have finally fulfilled my dream of owning an Alfa by purchasing a '99 156 2.0TS. It seems to be in pretty good condition - no rust, just passed its MOT and generally drives like a dream. It's due a service, and it could do with a replacement cam belt I think (it was last done at 27k and its now at 58k - but it was done in 2006 so its a bit aged). I'm also going to replace the water pump with it because it seems to be worthwhile. And if they're looking a bit tired I'll also get a new set of sparkies.
Now from what I've heard, the Alfa Workshop in Royston is one of the best (if not THE best by reviews). I'm down in Southampton, so it's a fair old trek up there - but I'm happy to do it if it means I get the job done well. They will do all that for £475, plus another £80 if the spark plugs need doing. But, if there's anywhere nearer to Southampton who can offer a similar service for the same price (or less) then obviously it would save me a fair amount of fuel.
Sooo my question is - do I make the trip to Royston or is there somewhere closer to home just as good?
