since i see you drive a 156 you probably know of the suspension knocks and squeaks.
things to look for:
the cambelt change as you say
check the oil level is at max. if not walk away
listen for any knocks or squeaks from the suspension
check the clutch feel, is it normal
check the gear selector, does it happily sit between 3 and 4?
when test driving, start the car from cold. if the car has been left running the dealer may be hiding something, most noises are present from cold and fade once warm.
apart from that, just look for the usual stuff you would when buying a car, is it in good condition, does it look like its been cared for, is there any rust, are the tyres wearing evenly... good luck!
