Does anyone have any experience of repairing/replacing the driver's seat adjuster on a 147?
I've had my '02 2L Lusso for about 2 weeks now... terribly, terribly expensive weeks
Mainly pocket draining because I read about the cam belt/tensioners issue on this forum, and seeing as how the car has 54k miles under its belt (do ya see what I did there?
) I asked my local Alfa repair specialist to replace it and (here's where it goes pear shaped
) I asked him to report back any problems.
End result was a replaced cambelt etc, variator, rear hub bushes
rear exhaust hanger rubbers, a realigning of the n/s headlight (thats a funny story for a later time), a reset of the computer system to get rid of some spurious warnings (who programs the darn thing, Bill Gates?
), an finally advisory about the seat adjuster and a bill for 850 quid
So, basically I'm asking a) was I ripped off for what was done, and b) bearing in mind that a new seat adjuster is 130 odd quid, are they repairable, ie is there a common problem with them. Or do I get used to my feet not touching the floor whilst wearing out my hair on the roof lining?
Other than that, me and my Alfa are, well, you know
