engine cut out at idle revs after running out of fuel
Good evening to all
I have an issue with my alfa 147 1.6 ts 120hp after running out of fuel.
Fuelled with 5 litres and got it to turn over and start, which then i added more 20 litres. All seemed well until after driving city style, i got to traffic lights and from idle revs it just cut out and wouldnt start.
Fiddled around with Maf conector, injector rail and purge valve for 10-15 minutes, and then magically it started.
Was really relieved and thought it was all in the past until it did exactly the same thing over and over and over again today.
I ended up knackering a couple of injector o-rings which i have since replaced ( Full injector rail and injectors, second hand approved). It does not drive badly or seem to starve for fuel at high revs or at high speeds. Goes right through the Rev. range til red line no problems.
Had engine light come on a couple of times after removing maf connector, but after stretching its legs on the highway after turning ignition off and on , the light would disapear.
Could i please trouble someone from this fórum for enlightenment on what could be the issue ( air in the fuel line?, Dirt in fuel pump?) etc and possibly a solution. Much apreciated
