greetings from scotland! i have more woes!
ok lets see what you make of this... after a 200 mile journey when I slowed (ie, when the engine note got quieter) I noticed a very high pitched whistle comin from my car. I can't isolate it as I can only make it out at maybe 10-40 mph before engine noise drowns it out... my car is quite loud. I suspect I have a brake sticking slightly somewhere as if I pump the brake pedal it goes away. I also know my discs and pads are at the end of their life, or will be very very soon. could it be they have just died or could it be something sticking? performance (stopping and going) has not changed at all.
also, I have notived my passenger rear tyre has a slow puncture, could this be causing something to emit a very high pitched squeal?
it is definetly a rotary whine, bearing or brake I expect. no rattle or anything to suggest bearing tho.
how can I isolate the cause and more to the point, fix it?
ps. cars great fun on these highland roads!
