airbag ecu faults

Hi all,
I have had recent flooding into the drivers side of my alfa 147.
I am getting the airbag light on constantly.
having checked the yellow connector cable under the drivers seat, made sue its dry and making good contact- I loaded up multiecuscan, and got the following errors- see .png file- which i cannot clear- and as i have an imminent MOT, this light needs to come on after engine start, then disappear.
Any help appreciated.
I have also disconnected the airbag ECU and confirmed its dry etc- but obviously this doesn't preclude damage from a voltage short.
Disabling the passenger airbag with the key gives me a correct dashboard indicator for the passenger airbag- so this part of the ecu seems to work!
I am tempted to try putting the 3.3 ohm resistor across the two wires (not the earth black wire) of the yellow connector cable under the drivers seat to spoof the ecu- just to see if I can then clear the airbag errors and clear the dash light , and / or alternatively- jerry rigging a cable from the passenger airbag to the driver airbag input to the ecu to see if the fault stays or not?

Any ideas welcome- or am I looking at a replacement airbag ECU ?
