so,my first couple of weeks as Alfa owner!
A couple of weeks ago i opened up ebay clicked on Alfa and bought an 02 TS 147..Easy as that!! After a road ,rail, tube, rail, road journey i arrived to pick her up..i must admit at first glance the car looked nice without being pristine but for 600 quid i was more concerned with what was going on under the bonnet. She started on the button sounded sweet and on a test drive seemed all nice and tight with only 1 problem 'rear side light?'..72k on clock with belts all done at 55k, so as i sat in the lovely new looking full leather seats with a 200 mile journey and no AA membership ahead of me, all i could remember was friends and family laughing as they said ' it will break down'!!
Anyway,50 miles into my 200 mile drive home i noticed temp shooting up from below half to halfway !!i completely shat myself but it kinda stayed in 80s all way home and i found this site straight away and DAVEALFA informed me this is thermostat opening and closing! thanks dave..But if i am perfectly honest if i had found this site first i think i would have been scared off buying an ALFA to be honest as i have had a Subaru Legacy for 4 years and can truthfully say i only opened the bonnet to fill up the washer bottle !
So, here i am 2 weeks in and i love my little Alfa and realise i am going to have to put in the work to keep enjoying this little car and today i bought my first tub of oil this century!!she seems to like a drink but like i say checking oil levels etc is a bit alien to me at the moment but i am going to embrace this ..
A couple of questions:
1, when would you experts do next belts etc change(obviously i have looked on google)
2, would my subaru 205/50/16 tyres be detrimental putting on the Alfa as the tyres need changing soon and has 205/55s on
