GT JTD Moon Blue

Re: Tyre Wear on the GT

Does any body here have the official alfa figures for toe and camber for a GT JTD with 17inch wheels ?

I had a 4 wheels laser adjustement done last week and it ishows significantly different min and max values that the adjustment made 12 months ago !!!!

Was at the dealer yesterday for a different reason but they couldn't provide me with the correct figures ......

Re: Tyre Wear on the GT

I'd also be interested in this info, as I'm having a real issue with tyre wear. At the dealer this morning, they checked for any suspension issues, and gave me a clean bill of health, but the Tech guy there did suggest that I get a 4 wheel alignment done as the fronts obviously use the rear wheels as a reference point, so if the rear are out...
I had already had the wheels checked a couple of days ago for front tracking, and they appeared fine.
Kwik fit reckoned the suspension was probably worn, hence trip to the dealer. (just to rule it out)
Looks like I need a 4 wheel alignment done

My tyres are wearing badly on the front inside edge. I have swapped some F1s to Pirelli P zero neros, and they're already scuffing badly after 4k!!

Re: Tyre Wear on the GT

the following are specs taken from a copy of a workshop manual/CD i have. i believe they apply to all model GTs:

FRONT TOE: -2.4mm +/- 0.6 (ie: slight toe-out; this spec is COMBINED toe measurements for L and R wheels; ie: each wheel is -1.2mm)
FRONT CAMBER: -0d24' +/- 20' (read: neg 0 degrees, 24 minutes; ie: slight neg camber)

REAR TOE: +2.4mm +/- 1 (ie: slight toe-in)
REAR CAMBER: -1d21' +/- 20'

i presume it's correct.

Alfa GT 2.0

Re: Tyre Wear on the GT

Hi All,

I'm having the same problem on my 18' shot GT 2.0. Took it in to replace the tires in Oct '06 because of the tyre wear on the inside fronts. Got them to laser re-align but 12 months (only 5000 miles) on its happened again. The guy at the place told me this should really be fixed under warranty, what is Alfa Romeo's stance on this? Surely with Alfa Romeo current pushing for German level of quality they would have a solution to fix.

Spending £240 every 5000 miles is an expense which i could do with out.

Hi, With having had engine work done and clutch replaced, getting told that the camber cannot be adjusted (front insides of the tyre loosing most of the rubber) by local tyre specialist. Can anything be done..
I seem to be missing something as in some places it states that Camber cannot be adjusted but then would we not all be suffering from empty wallets every 6 months!!!!

Questions: Can the camber be adjusted?

front camber cannot be adjusted.
Also dont forget that the main reason for alignment problems for ALL cars is the state of our roads, road bumps or speed cusions, add kerbing, careless parking etc it does not take alot to put the geometry out, after all it is down to +/- 1mm across the whole width.

the last reported spec change was in 2006, GT/3.2. 156/Sports kit/GTA and 147/GTA, they are all slightly different to spec. the std.reading front is -1+/- .6mm rear 3 +/-1 each. I have looked but cannot find a revision that advises parallel.
