I know that some of this has probably been covered before...so sorry if im repeating anything.
Ive just bought a 2001 156 2.0ts and am looking forward to making a few mods to turn it into a harder edged performance car.
My plans thus far are:
-cat back exhaust (de cat, and straight through pipes)
-custom made CAI (GTA piping, heat sheild and a quality filter)
-angel tuning chip or squadra chip (which do people reccomend?)
-light weight pulleys
-maybe some high performance cams (can anyone reccomend anything?)
-LSD (" ")
-light weight flywheel
-aftermarked suspension (again, any suggestions)
I would also like to raise the redline a bit, what is the safe maximum? ... considering that i service the car every 5,000km and use top quality oil, and 98 octane pertol.
What kind of power can i expect to be making?
Are these the standard sorts of things people do when looking for more power and speed out of a 156?
And how much should i budget for these of mods?
I was looking to spend about $3000 AUD. Maybe a bit more if need be.
Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated. I want my little 156 to be able to keep up with the local V8s
(or atleast the 6s), not just in the corners but also in the straights.
