clutch inspection cover?
Can anyone tell me if there's an inspection cover in the clutch bellhousing anywhere on the 6 speed manual box fitted to the 1.9 JTDs?
my clutch has been slipping after changing gear since I acquired the car but not much, obviously one has to suspect that the clutch is at the end of it's life but before giving in completely and spending that whole weekend and more -for me- dropping the box and that expensive -for me- £160 pounds on a decent clutch I would like to be absolutely sure it isn't "clagged" or oil and greased up.
With some other cars you can
a. poke your little inspection camera. . and
b. load a can of clutch and brake cleaner or degreaser onto the friction plate (whilst a friend depresses the clutch to separate the plates)
through the bell housing inspection cover. so is there one?
or will I have to remove the starter motor.
