Mystery blue wire from siren ?
So, i just got myself a 156 (thanks for the welcome everyone ! Think i've never had such a warm welcome on any board ever !). I took her to the local Alfa specialist and got her checked out, serviced and made road worthy. (Alasta Auto's in Dublin - very very knowledgable crew when it comes to Alfa's)
Now there's a long list of little things i'll need to address to get her back into 'showroom' shape, but for now i just have 2 questions;
What does the master key look like and how screwed am i if i don't have it ? I got two red keys (no buttons on them) and a keyfob.
The keyfob (of the small black box variety) isn't doing its magic. I checked the battery voltage - it's fine. The LED on the fob comes on too. The alarm LED in the 156 is dead. Central locking works fine.
If i look under the hood i can see a blue wire (GND ?) from the siren going nowhere - it's cut off after about 5 centimeters. Apart from that it's connected through a thick black cable. Would not grouding the siren be the cause of the total alarm system failure ? Can anyone give me a hint as to where i should connect the blue wire to ?
I registered a copy of AlfaDiag (good stuff !)- it seems i'm fault free... (yay !)
Any help would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks !
