as keith says, you need to drop two screws out (one either side of steering wheel) to gain access to the OBD port, its a very poorly labelled port above the fuse board!
i think the only software to support the full alfa obd codes is the examiner software but im afraid i dont know where to get this or for how much. the digimoto software gives the correct code number so you could always use this to ring your local alfa garage and ask them for a meaning, despite their reputation they are normally most helpful! just ask to speak to a technician!
if you could get ahold of a full list of OBD codes for the alfas then of corse you wouldnt need to contact the dealer. im sure someone has a code list somewhere... i only have the standard 0-0999 codes, but am in close contact with the local alfa dealer givin my current project has taken a fair bit of examiner use!
