Alfa GT 1.9JTD 170 Cloverleaf

I must be smitten with Alfa Romeo and the GT because I replaced my old early GT (2004) with a 2008 GT Cloverleaf with 170bhp and a little red 'sport' button!

When the extra BHP is combined with the limited slip differential and retuned steering and suspension, it drives so much better.

Having part exchanged my old GT, I have discovered my Pro-Bitz tuning box in my office drawer for common rail diesel engines plus instructions for fitting to the GT. It added some extra 'oomph' to my previous 150BHP car although I can't vouch for the extra fuel efficiency savings claimed by the original manufacturer as I seemed to drive my car more enthusiastically after installing it.

If anyone is interested in buying it, I will put an ad in the AO Classifieds or PM me.

Regards to all AO and GT enthusiasts.

You can always remap your cloverleaf for even more power. There is a red dot tuning day for Alfa and Fiat cars on the 30th of March.

Me Too!
I also upgraded to a 170 Cloverleaf, it is great!

Just looking through the threads on this forum as I want a bit more power. Current view is that the sport button just makes the throttle more responsive which is what I feel happens and that a re-map will not remove this.

I am worried that a remap will remove this function and think a tuning box would be best. Has anybody used a tuning box on a 170bhp GT?

You can have twin maps with the sport button, ie eco map with it off and a fast map with it on.

Hi there. I dont have the GT cloverleaf but I do have the 147 Ducati Corse 170 Q2. The red sport button only changes the way that the fuel is delivered hence making it more responsive. The steering and suspension are not affected by the button, but I believe they are slightly uprated from standard.
The actual engine is still only a 150bhp unit, but it is the main body ECU which changes it to 170bhp. I have had mine re-mapped (only a mild map tho) by Reddot racing, and it now produces 212 BHP n the increase in torque is staggering. Totally transformed the car and driveability esp with the Q2 diff
I was after a white GT cloverleaf 170 Q2, but was out my price range, so went for the Ducati, and its just as good as the GT.
I done a serious amount of homework and looking into every aspect, and got all the info I needed and wanted. Checked everything out with my local Alfa specialist Indy garage just to be sure about eveything.
The remap is so worth the money, and much better than a tuning box IMO
Hope this helps

The 170 ducati and the 170 Gt clover had different injectors and turbo..Different to the 150 model also the car had slightly different clutch which had dimples on the clutch surface..This is now a std feature on all the valeo replacement units.

I also had a 2004 GT and now a clover 170 q2. The std clover suspension is terrible..I replaced most of my chassis components for upgraded stuff and now it is transformed.

ALFADOIT - clutch kit for Ducati is Valeo 828065 which apparently is intended only for Ducati and not for GT 170 (which apparantly gets 828063)
Can you confirm?

This would suggest that Ducati clutch is stronger/different to all other 8v, 10v and 16v clutches (even the 170 GT A6.000)

I wouldn't touch a std clutch. I have a brand new JTD performance stage 1 for sale. Which is good for up to a little over 200 bhp and stronger than the oem unit.
