Warning Hello and Selespeed problem!

It was a long time back when I first registered here but only now did I get to browse the forum. I am based in Singapore and own a 2001 156TS selespeed currently with about 91k km clocked.

The car has been fun to own and drive until recently when selespeed problems start surfacing possibly due to ageing. During downshifts, especially from 3rd to 2nd gear, there is a clunking sound and a jerk. It does sound/feel like a mis-coordination when releasing the clutch pedal and downshifting in a manual car. There has been several occasions where the mistiming actually leading to the gearbox not able to engage 2nd gear during such a manuvoer.

Much work has been done including a new clutch, swapping a gearbox, new clutch actuator solenoid valve and accumulators. In fact all the actuator sensors and solenoids on the hydraulic unit has been swapped but the problem never seem to go away. The next thing to consider doing is to put in another hydraulic unit (costly!) altogether but I am not confident it will definitely work.

Anyone with similar experience and solve the riddle?

Re: Hello and Selespeed problem!

Hello there, my sele developed similar jerking and poor shifting symptoms when the pump was on the way out. A new pump and calibration fixed the problem.

Re: Hello and Selespeed problem!

Do you mean the motor pump (whose carbon brush tend to wear?) on the left side of the car?
