Halogen lights on GT
I have found the halogen H7s on my GT to be the worst dipped and full beams of any car I have ever met. I have just fitted Philips VisionPlus 50%+ to dips, full beam and brake lights. The output is a little bit brighter, but still low. Do Alfa ship the cars with the lights set particularly low? I would adjust them up myself (looks like Allen key for vertical and horizontal), but I don't have the patience to setup a screen and work out the angles. The motorized adjuster seems to be working fine.
Do you know if there were any particular problems with the headlight units in early GTs? Will I blind people if I use the fogs (in the same cluster of all places - otherwise I would not even consider) as well?
By the way, time saving tip for people changing the dip/full beam H7s on RHD GT: push the upper protrusion (metal wire holding each side of bulb) in and then right to release the bulb. There is no point pushing the lower edges together (the lower bits happen to be the only bits of the bulb holding wire that you can actually see, but they are just part of the hinge). I did not attempt the sidelights as I only had capless W5W (as indicated by service manual). They are actually H6W...
