147 JTDm. Engine dies on Deceleration.
I've bought a relatively low mileage ('04, 80k) straight car with every JTD problem listed on the forums. What I find most strange is that when driving, very carefully as it has lots of other issues, if I lifted off anything but very slowly the engine died and would only start when ignition was turned off and on again. It only happened on deceleration, and not when holding a speed. Only then did it bring up the "water in diesel" error. It was a hairy drive home!
Issues at the time were EGR causing trouble - but I had it isolated.
Diesel in fuel filter looked closer to watery milk.
MAF was dripping with oil from crankcase breather pipe.
Errors 190 & 191 (fuel pressure regulation/range) came up on scan.
Haven't checked turbo or vacuum pipes yet.
I'm hoping that when I do all the other things this problem will go away. It just seemed a bit strange to me.
