The car in question is mine. It is the car in Auto Italia this month.
I am very very pleased with the result. The article was pretty much spot on with his comments, about the speed and torque.
Here is a bit of history:
I bought the JTS new in 2003, I have had the re-map done after about 7K miles, as the standard performance was very disappointing. The difference was very noticable, however, after a couple of yrs, I wanted more out of the car, so i finally decided to take the plunge.
I had the conversion done, when the car had done about 36K miles, i have driven 9K miles, since, and I have not had any problems at all.
In fact I drove it on the recent Autodelta tour of Europe. www.autodeltatour.com
. The car handled perfectly, we managed to put on over 2K miles in a week.
I have the HB kit on, so the handling is pretty good, the brakes are standard, I have the Longer 5th Gear, which does make a differenece.
As for fuel econmy, I tend to get 320 miles on a tank, before I have to fill up, this is when the red light has come on, and I have about 2 litres left in the tank. This is pretty good, since I do drive with a "heavy foot"
All in all, it is the best thing i could have done with the car, I am very pleased with the results. The acceleration is amazing, the delivery of power is linear, and smooth in all gears.
Jano, really does know what he is doing, I recommend the conversion very highly. If anyone has more questions, please feel free to ask.
