147 Cam Variator Valve and London garages and bodyshops

Hi guys,

I've just moved to London and my 147 has joined me. Managed to find an independant specialist not too far from work called Continental cars.

I have a few questions for all you people here, especially those of you in London!

1) Has anyone used this garage before and can anyone recommend any other Alfa independant garages in London?

2) Can anyone recommend a good bodyshop in london as a white van man kindly hit my rear bumper and drove off.

3) My 147 has had 2 problems at the garage:

1st is a problem going into first gear when starting - I've been told that the cam variator valve needs replacing, yet the whole cambelt was replaced by a decent garage last year (car has done 55k miles) so is this correct? and how much should it be?

2nd problem is that the car is suffering from lack of power which I've been told is the air flow filter apparently a common fault. Does this sound right?

sorry for all the questions in one post!
