Replacing Roof rack lugs on 156 saloon?

Can a broken roof rack lug on a 156 be replaced?

I am about to take the plunge into owning a 156 saloon (My first Alfa), and I have found the perfect candidate: 13 years old, 67000 km and no apparent rust at all.

However, one big problem may arise: At least one of the roof rack lugs under the door seals is sheared off.

Being able to carry a roofbox is critical to me, so please, can anybody tell me whether I might be able to replace the (one or more?) sheared off lugs?

Alternatively, is there a solution for a roof rack that does not include using the lugs (and still carries my giant Thule roof box safely).

Thanks for any reply on this.. I believe I have until Monday morning to decide on this....
