Okay, I got a hold of a complete second hand "plate" which contains the gear linkage, new gear shifter and handbrake. Got it for around 1500 NOK from a local Alfa workshop.
When i got to the car, I once again removed the leather surrounding the stick. I noticed that the metal part was almost out, and the balljoint connecting to this part from the shifter was out. I managed to push it in using WD40 and a long screwdriver. That solved the problem! I can now drive the car in every gear!
I tried to look at the gearbox, to see if the wires had come off, but was unable to get a good view. Am I blind, or a moron?
Now its tight as normal back and forth, but sideways its super loose. On the "new" gear linkage, I noticed a white "ring" inside the ball joint, that i suspect is missing on mine. I guess that would fix the loose gear movement.
Well, I will investigate this tonight. If everything is okay, I have a spare gear linkage if anyone is interested!
This is how it looked. You can see the metal part almost out! Just push it back in, and I was good to go again.. Attachment 1.
This is the part i bought. I didn't like the wooden knob. Kind of happy if i don't have to use that!
